A Mommy's Christmas Wish List

Keeping with tradition (here's last year's wish list) I thought I'd share with you my mommy must-haves for this holiday season...

1) A self-cleaning highchair: Because no amount of non-toxic, non-hazardous, eco-friendly, kid-friendly spray solution will ever have my child's seat sanitized.  No matter how hard I scrub, the remnants of past meals will remain in hidden cracks and crevices for an eternity.  And they will forever haunt me.

2) A Claw Grabber: To easily "hand" Mackenzie whatever she's asking for at any given moment from her car seat.  Snacks, Big Bird, water (no, not THAT water, Mommy's water), more snacks, whatever Mommy happens to be eating, books, the car keys, the socks she didn't want to wear in the first place, Mommy's sunglasses, wet wipes, etc.

3) Playground blinders: To prevent my kid from catching the slightest glimpse of this torture zone.  (For more on why I can't stand the jungle gym, check out last month's post here.)

4) An editor for this blog: Because I'm often cross-eyed with exhaustion at the end of the day when I sit down at the computer to write.

5) A plastic surgeon on hand when the next baby comes.  Just in case this one completely ruins my stomach.

6) SuperNanny: To take over for me when my daughter throws a temper tantrum in the middle of a rest stop.  And decides to stop, drop, and roll.  Right outside the men's room.  And I'm all alone.

7) Permission to play "Elmo's Song" on a loop while I run to the nail salon for a pedi.  And possibly a mani.

8) To shower in peace: Gone are the days where Mackenzie could sit and play nicely in the bathroom while I indulged in 10 minutes of bliss.  In the past month she's managed to evade the constrictions posed by child-proof cabinet locks, learned how to hoist herself into the bathtub, and demonstrated a persistence when it comes to kicking shower doors.

9) An endless supply of under-eye concealer

10) An endless supply of patience

  6. Very inspiring post.. :) I agree with the comment above that you will need a consultation first because complication afterbirth may vary. I guess if you undergone surgery, your husband will think of you as a hottest mother ever! :) Goodluck
