RSVPeed

Almost immediately after becoming a parent you start surrounding yourself with others of your kind as a type of survival mechanism.
You still keep in touch with your single and childless friends, but some sort of instinct kicks in where you're inherently aware of the bumpy road ahead and you recognize the need to arm yourself with a strong alliance.

Hope and Change

Two years ago today Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States...
My niece Parker was born...
And I had no intentions of having a baby...
At least not anytime soon.

Are We There Yet?

This is a question I ask myself day in and day out.

Are we there yet?

Are we sleeping through the night? Sure.
Are we eating solid foods? Yes.
Are we sitting up on our own. Check.
Are we able to get through a massive shopping trip at BJ's without a major temper tantrum? YES!!!

But be warned, mommies in the making... It doesn't necessarily get easier.
It just gets... different.

Check Yourself

The scene:
11:30 a.m. on a Monday
A suburban grocery store
Aisle 5

The characters:
- A loud, obnoxious mother who thinks she's the only person in the world with a child
- Her son, who - at the moment - seems perfectly content picking his nose

"Ryyyyyyan! Should we get strawwwwws? Do you want to drink your juice through a strawwwww?"
As far as I can see, Ryan could care less how he gets his juice, as long as it comes with a side order of boogers.

A Mommy Is Made Goes GTL

They're baaaaack! And arguably, they're better than ever.
A new year brings a new season of Jersey Shore.  And since this atrocity of a show is A Mommy Is Made's guiltiest pleasure, I thought I'd take the time to send a shout-out to my favorite meatballs.

Here are ten reasons why the cast members would make great parents...

A Mommy Is Made Goes Gray

The other day I found two -- TWO! -- gray hairs.
Today I found another two.
Seeing as the most experimentation I've done with my hair extends to using some Sun In spray at the beach, I'm nowhere near ready to start coloring.
I'll be 32 in April and it seems premature for me to start going gray.
So I started wondering if these little white strands were really a sign of aging or if becoming a mother has had something to do with it.
